About Annette
Annette is a lifelong creative soul, whose individualistic adventures started in her late teens through exploring different musical and clothing cultures she found her own unique style, her diverse inspirations coming from fashion design icons such as Westwood and Malcom McLaren as well as artistic influences ranging from Warhol to Dali.
From a traditional working class childhood she has been a business professional for over 40 years, climbing the corporate ladder holding directorships, leading large groups of teams both locally and Internationally all the time maintaining her exclusive style and consistently bringing her energy and expressionism even to the boardroom. Art re-found Annette some 8 years ago, where after taking over the living & dining rooms of her old Victorian home in Greater Manchester she eventually created her own studio in the converted basement. Working with no natural sunlight and a ceiling height that anyone over 5 and a half feet could not stand-up straight in, she was able to really start to explore her artistry within the boundaries and the limitations of the space within her home.
Outgrowing the cellar, Annette was using the upstairs of an uninsulated garage for her artwork, creating decoupaged mannequins and experimenting with painting techniques. After 2 years enduring the extremes of cold and heat, Annette finally moved to her latest home on the west coast of Lancashire. This move coincided with her decision to step away from her hectic and demanding work-life and immerse herself further into her art. With her new property providing increasing inspiration and a freshly converted studio – complete with heating plus the constant company of her two cats, Annette has made spending time in her happy place a core part of her life, applying her artistic vision to create unique paintings and exquisite decorative mannequins.
Enjoying more & more time on her projects, Annette is motivated to transform her designs from concept to canvas, pushing herself to use both contemporary and traditional techniques to create and share her own designs as well as applying her style to commissioned pieces.
